A Digital Spark in Modern Times

Victoria and GuenChan's story is a testament to love in the digital age. Their romance blossomed from a Tinder match during the isolating times of the COVID-19 pandemic. Their bond deepened over texts and calls, filled with anticipation for the day they could meet in person. Not being able to wait until the lockdown was over - it was GuenChan's impromptu climb onto Victoria's balcony that turned their digital connection into a real-life fairy tale, blending modern dating with a touch of Romeo & Juliet romance.

Morning Preparations: Anticipation and Friendship

The wedding day began with excitement and a bit of nerves. Victoria, with her best friend Jackie from Vancouver, prepared at her apartment, sharing moments of gratitude and joy. Across the city, GuenChan readied himself, filled with anticipation for the day ahead.

As the time for the first look approached, the anticipation in the air was palpable. Victoria, adorned in her elegant bridal dress, approached GuenChan with a light-heartedness that reflected their deep bond. She playfully peeked from under his arm, her smile wide and a bit goofy, a perfect expression of their comfortable and joyful relationship.

GuenChan, upon seeing Victoria, couldn't help but be taken aback by her presence. In a moment of spontaneous affection, he twirled her gently, a gesture that allowed him to fully appreciate her in her bridal attire. This spin was not just about seeing her dress; it was a celebration of their relationship, full of admiration and mutual respect. As they faced each other again, their connection was evident. They shared a kiss, not just romantic but also signifying the depth of their understanding and companionship.

This first look between Victoria and GuenChan was more than a wedding tradition; it was a reflection of their journey together, balancing excitement for their new chapter with the comfort and familiarity of their bond. It set a wonderfully authentic tone for the rest of their wedding day, capturing the essence of their love story in a moment that was both playful and sincere.

A Walk Down the Aisle Together: Through the Photographer's Lens

As the moment for Victoria and GuenChan to walk down the aisle arrived, it was not just a ceremonial procession but a deeply personal moment, witnessed intimately by us, the photographers. In these moments, as photographers, we often find ourselves privy to the most tender and genuine exchanges - the kind that are usually unseen by the rest of the world.

Just before stepping into view of their eagerly awaiting guests, GuenChan and Victoria shared a quiet, heartfelt exchange. It was a moment of pure, unguarded emotion - a comforting whisper from GuenChan to Victoria, reminding her to take a deep breath, to take in every moment, to relax and enjoy. This exchange, though brief, was a profound testament to their bond, a reassurance of support and love that spoke volumes. As photographers, capturing these fleeting, candid moments is a privilege, offering a glimpse into the true essence of the couple's relationship.

These are the moments that often go unnoticed by many but hold immense significance. They are the fleeting glances, the soft touches, the whispered words - all of which paint a vivid picture of the couple’s journey together. As Victoria and GuenChan began their walk down the aisle, hand in hand, their connection was palpable. The gentle music of "Just the Way You Are" by Piano Guys filled the air, adding a melodious backdrop to their steps.

Their walk down the aisle was not just a formality but a shared journey, a step into their future together. The vows that followed were a beautiful continuation of this journey, words spoken not just to each other but to their shared life ahead. As photographers, capturing these moments is not just about preserving memories; it's about telling a story, the story of Victoria and GuenChan - a story of love, support, and shared dreams.

Reception: A Blend of Elegance and Personal Touches

The reception at The Village Loft was a masterful blend of elegance and personalized elements, each adding a unique touch to Victoria and GuenChan's celebration. As guests mingled and enjoyed the beautifully decorated venue, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement and anticipation for the festivities to unfold.

One of the highlights of the evening was the wedding shoe game, a playful yet revealing activity that provided both entertainment and insight into Victoria and GuenChan's relationship. The couple, seated back to back with one of each other's shoes in hand, answered a series of questions by raising the shoe that corresponded to their answer. This game, full of laughter and surprise, allowed guests a glimpse into the couple's dynamics in a light-hearted and engaging way. For instance, when asked who was the first to say "I love you," both Victoria and GuenChan raised GuenChan's shoe, drawing smiles and nods from the audience. And in a moment that beautifully illustrated the balance in their relationship, when asked who is more likely to say sorry first, each lifted the other’s shoe, a sweet testament to their understanding and mutual respect.

Amidst the laughter and games, there was a moment of profound emotion when Victoria and GuenChan gave their thanks to their parents. As Victoria bowed to her mother, a wave of emotion overcame her, tears streaming down her face. This moment, deeply touching and real, marked a turning point in the evening, where the magnitude of the day and the journey they had embarked on truly hit home. Friends, family, and even we, the photographers, were moved by this display of love and gratitude. It was a reminder of the deep bonds and the emotional depth that weddings bring to the forefront.

The reception continued with moments of joy, laughter, and heartfelt interactions. Each element of the evening, from the playful shoe game to the emotional exchanges, was a reflection of Victoria and GuenChan's personalities and the love they share. As photographers, capturing these moments was not just about documenting the day; it was about preserving the essence of their relationship and the emotions that made their wedding day uniquely theirs.

Officially Archeo at Distillery District is the venue that I shot most of my weddings, and let me tell something, every time I come back, there’s a different feeling. And this time with Rachel and Ajay wasn’t different. And I hope to keep coming back more and more.

I just went back to look at Alicia and Joel’s wedding photos, and OMG!!! What a fun and happy morning. I already knew their vibe from the Toronto Bridal Show when we first met a couple of years back, and after their engagement photos, I was 100% sure that the wedding day was going to rock. And knowing that they booked Casa Loma for the ceremony and The Eglinton Grand for the reception, two of my favourites venues, that day had everything to be one of the most beautiful weddings of the year for me, and it was :D
